Linen clothing with ornamental embroidery first appeared in what is now known as Ukraine in the 11th century. A century later, gold embroidery became popular and silk thread, previously dyed with natural dyes, came into use. Over time, these embroidered garments have remained in vogue and are renowned worldwide, especially among the Ukrainian people.

Despite changes in clothing styles and the introduction of new elements in embroidery, the overall appearance, even after many centuries, remains unchanged. Geometric shapes (symbols), flowers, birds, and even animals from different countries continue to inspire these embroidery designs.

With these ideas in mind, MONA was founded with the vision to transcend traditional ethnic styles to create new, interesting models that embody elegant design and spectacular embroidery, combining charm, beauty, comfort, and uniqueness. In its collection, the brand uses sacred Slavic symbols such as diamonds, symbolizing the sun and fertility, along with Ukrainian ethnic adornments rich with beautiful meanings like mother nature, woman as mother, flowers on the tree of life, and birds as messengers from God.

The team of talented and emerging artists and designers at MONA offers customers a space for imagination, providing a sensational experience as you create a unique model by choosing your favorite fabric color and embroidery.
